I Was Just Featured in Forbes… and I’m Honestly in Tears 🥹

June 18, 2025

This might be the hardest blog post I’ve ever tried to write—because how do you put into words what it feels like to see your name in Forbes?

Not only was I named one of Forbes’ Top 50 Creators in Home Improvement for 2025… but we made it to #16! Out of every creator in the DIY and home space, Abby Road Home is in the Top 20. What. Is. Life. 😭

This is so unreal.

This was never the plan. This whole thing started as a necessity—I didn’t set out to be an “influencer.” I was a mom with five kids, trying to make our house feel like a home on a budget. I picked up a drill, turned on a camera, and started sharing because it felt like the only way to move forward. What began as one project to improve our space turned into something much bigger—we didn’t just improve our home, we improved our family and our life. This midlife career change went unexpectedly right, and it has changed my life more than I can ever explain.

To now be featured in Forbes, to be acknowledged for the work that’s been built with late nights, DIY fails, bunny cabinets, and so many prayers… it’s just the most full-circle moment.

To be listed as #16—recognized for everything from hidden dog feeding stations to bathroom makeovers, from gingerbread dollhouses to budget-friendly remodels—it’s honestly the biggest full-circle moment. The girl who once used a vintage suitcase as a nightstand made it to Forbes. And I’m not stopping here.

We’ve hit over 2.2 million followers and counting, and I want to thank every single one of you. Without your encouragement, support, and love, I’d still be that girl with a drill and a dream. YOU gave me this platform. YOU are the reason I get to wake up and do what I love every day. This is OUR win. And I hope it inspires you the way you’ve inspired me.

This might be my name in the article, but it’s your fingerprints on this win. Every saved post, every DM, every shared story… you helped put me here.

To my amazing Abby Road Home community—this is OUR win. Not just mine. Not just the team’s. But YOURS. My community. My people. 💛

To my dream team behind the scenes—my incredible ARH team—thank you for making the magic happen. To my amazing managers at Parker Talent Management—thank you for believing in me, advocating for me, and helping me take this brand to places I never dreamed possible.

To Forbes—thank you for seeing me. For honoring this community and this work with a platform like yours. I’m beyond grateful.

To everyone on this list I haven’t connected with yet—I hope we become DIY besties. Seriously. Let’s build more than homes. Let’s build each other up, share our tools (literally and metaphorically), and keep showing that this space has room for everyone.

And looking at this list… I have to say—it’s deeply inspiring. With everything happening in the world, seeing such incredible diversity and representation means so much. People of color, men, women, older creators, younger ones—it warms my heart. As a mom of five beautiful, mixed-race children who definitely don’t look like “everyone else,” this moment is even more meaningful. Every time I show up online—even when I embarrass myself—I’m doing it to show them that they can do anything. That people who look like them can top Forbes lists. That their voices, their dreams, and their creativity matter.

To my kids—you’re my biggest why. Every cabinet built, wall painted, or bunny medicine cabinet crafted has been with your laughter in the background and your love in the room. You made this dream more beautiful than I ever imagined.

This moment is incredible—but it’s also just the beginning. Being recognized in Forbes has lit a fire in me to keep dreaming even bigger. I’m more committed than ever to growing Abby Road Home—not just as a brand, but as a movement that empowers women to create beautiful, functional spaces no matter their budget or experience level. I want to teach more, share more, and connect more with you.

And then come back and cry with me in the comments. I’ll bring the tissues and the sawdust.

With all the love in the world,
Abby 💛
