What better way to kick off summer than an outdoor movie night?!
I created this DIY movie screen with some PVC pipes and 2 bed sheets to enjoy a fun staycation activity with my kids.
Check out my inspo photo I found on Pinterest (dreamy, right?!)

This is a super simple and affordable activity to encourage your family to spend time together outside. Check out the inspo I was going for here:
Grab some blankets and popcorn – I’m breaking down a step by step tutorial on how to create your own outdoor movie oasis!
Step 1:
Gather the following materials (I also created product lists for this on LTK and Amazon)
- (4) 8’ PVC pieces
- (2) 1” PVC tees
- (2) 1” elbows
- (2) 1 ¼ “ x 2’ pvc pipe
- PVC pipe cutter or hack saw (I used a hack saw)
- Drill
- 2 King size stretchy sheets (1 black & 1 white)
- Curtain rings & grommets
- Eye Hooks (for string lights / anchoring to the ground with rope during windy weather)
- Fabric Tape
- Spray Paint (optional to create a bronzed finish)
- Projector (I used this one from Amazon!)
- Rugs / Pillows / Blankets / Popcorn!
Step 2:
Cut 6 base pieces from the pvc pipe that will go in the ground.
Tip: I used a hack saw for this step instead of a pipe cutter

Step 3:
Next, cut the vertical pieces for the frame.
Step 4:
Lay out and connect the frame using the tees and elbows.

Step 5:
Drill holes in the ground for the base pieces and use a mallet to secure bases in the ground.

Step 6:
Attach the black sheet with curtain rings & grommets.

Step 7:
Use fabric tape to attach the white sheet to the top of the black sheet. This allows for a better picture quality while projecting your movie.

Step 8:
Attach frame to the base and anchor with eye hooks & rope for support if desired

Step 9:
Set up your space with pillows, rugs, snacks, and your favorite movie! Enjoy!
